Van Wagner Responds

April 17th, 2007

We have been posting less frequently of late due to time pressures, not lack of material. The crush and drag of multiple Spring tasks are upon us. Fortunately though, in the next few posts we are honored to present some thoughts of great thinkers (other than ourselves, and possibly even greater, too).

Dr. Charles Van Wagner has responded to our review of his landmark paper,  Historical Fire Cycles in the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks, co-written by Charles E. Van Wagner, Canadian Forest Service (ret.), Mark A. Finney, USDA Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station, Fire Sciences Laboratory, and Mark Heathcott, Parks Canada, (citation: Forest Science 52(6) 2006, 704-717).

Our review of that paper is (here). We have posted Dr. Van Wagner’s comments below our review post to keep things tidy and all together.

Please follow the link to read his thoughtful response.
